Abstract
An account of the society's recent tour to Tajikistan, which started in Dushanbe and involved some significant mountain climbing. By way of preface, the author sets the tour in the wider context of the 19th century history of the region. He also gives details of some significant climbs in an area little known to British mountaineers.
