Abstract
This article, one of three in this issue originating at Yale, presents a kaleidoscope of the state and development of social science in and among the several fields. Graduate training at Yale is flourishing and there is a luxuriant growth of interdisciplinary projects. The writer also suggests that more social scientists turn to the study of universities themselves, as well as armies, corporations and governments.
