Abstract

This article, one of three in this issue originating at Yale, presents a kaleidoscope of the state and development of social science in and among the several fields. Graduate training at Yale is flourishing and there is a luxuriant growth of interdisciplinary projects. The writer also suggests that more social scientists turn to the study of universities themselves, as well as armies, corporations and governments. An earlier form of the article appeared in the Yale alumni bulletin.
