Abstract
ABSTRACTWhat are the social/political possibilities of ‘feminist porn?’ How might feminists broach these films within the context of their wider communities? Given the uncertainty that surrounds the future of this genre, many feminists have embraced a posture of ‘ambivalence’ about feminist porn. In what follows, I argue against the necessity of such an approach. More specifically, I suggest that Sigmund Freud offers a compelling example of what it might look like to lead with ‘enthusiasm’ when faced with the unknown. I conclude by exploring how Freud’s insights might be used to expand the impact of feminist porn within the social/political sphere.
