Abstract

The aim of the article is to show how important a role the Social Insurance Institution plays in the financial system of the Republic of Poland in relation to the general financial security of the state.The starting point, however, is to locate this public law institution in the structure of public finance administration and to present its administrative structure.The tasks of the Department as part of its statutory obligations, including in the field of social provision, as well as various methods of assistance, which are a response to the contemporary problems of economic entrepreneurship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, have been widely discussed.An attempt was also made to systematize the area of computerization of the Social Insurance Institution, including its evaluation in terms of functionality and facilitating access to services for the social side.The Department's finances were also subjected to a detailed assessment in terms of sources of revenue and current operating costs.
