Abstract
Summary Most seating studies consist of surveys or descriptions of individual systems. This paper describes the complete process of special seating provision for a client in the mental handicap sector. Assessment, fitting, and follow-up are described in a detailed case study. The team approach is emphasised. The apparent benefits following one year's use of the new seating are discussed.
