Abstract

AbstractThis paper looks at the impact of satellite broadcasting on Korean society and culture. In particular, it focuses on the type of acceptance given to direct broadcast satellites, the profile of viewers, the spillover from foreign broadcasts via satellites and its impact on Korean society, the concern about this and some solutions to overcome this concern, and the direction and future of the Korean Satellite Broadcasting project.
