Abstract
We present new CCD photometry of the Small Magellanic Cloud star cluster Lindsay 1 in UB V Ifilters. It is the first photometry in U and I filters. We determine the reddening E(B V)= 0:014. Using a variety of metallicity indicators in the optical and the infrared regions we determine a cluster metallicity (Fe=H)CG97= 1:05 0:14 and (M=H)= 0:83 0:14. We find that Lindsay 1 has an age of 9-10 Gyr.
