Abstract

A multi-GeV monochromatic photon beam is operational at SLAC. The energy spectrum consists of a monochromatic part, derived from the in-flight annihilation of positrons, superimposed on the usual thin target bremsstrahlung. The beam has been successfully utilized in the study of photoproduction processes by both bubble chamber and spark chamber techniques.
