Abstract
Luminescence investigations of nanocrystalline (nc) BaTiO3 powders doped with Eu3+-ions prepared by the sol–gel method is described. A stability of Eu3+-ions replacing Ba2+-sites up to 1100°C is reported. The effect of BaTiO3 grain sizes on luminescence properties of Eu3+ was noticed. To explain these differences a detailed analysis of luminescence spectra by the Judd–Ofelt theory has been performed.
