Abstract

Small deviations of temperature from stationary optimum values optimize the growth and energetics of fish. The positive influence on the growth and energetics of fish at fluctuations of temperature is more expressed when they occur as a result of spontaneous swimming in the temperature gradient field. Changes in growth rates, respiration intensity, and consumption of energy per unit of weight that occur under the influence of oscillation of temperature are closely correlated with each other.
