Abstract
The most vulnerable period in terms of the formation of congenital malformations of organs is 3-4 weeks of pregnancy. It is during this period that the formation of the interventricular septum occurs. Exposure to teratogenic factors on the fetus or genetic mutations at the initial stages of embryogenesis can lead to the development of a single ventricle of the heart, which is considered a severe congenital malformation. The article describes a clinical case of a single heart ventricle in a 19-year-old patient complicated by cardiorenal syndrome.
