Abstract
The e.m.f. of the cell Pt/H 2 /HOAc, m /AgOAc/Ag has been measured at 25° using formamide as the solvent. The standard potential of he Ag/AgOAc electrode is 0.4266±0.0006 V, in good agreement with the value, 0.4261±0.0007 V, obtained from the study of the buffered cell Pt/H 2 /HOAc ( m 1 ), KOAc ( m 2 )/AgOAc/Ag. From the standard potential of the Ag/AgOAc electrode, the standard free energy change Δ G 0 for the cell reaction in formamide medium has been calculated.
