Abstract

The author of Corpus Dionysiacum (CD) is known and unknown. So is in his/her theological view, the entire created reality and, especially, God Himself as the uncreated Creator of all. The reception of CD’s authorship variated during the time from the acceptance of its genuineness to the charge of forgery hidden behind a well-chosen pseudonymous. Some scholars suggested that pseudonymity may be a symbolical one or even a literary ploy. It is of interest to see which are the boundaries acceptable on this subject for the Orthodox Tradition. Is there any critical link between CD and its author, or the works written by him/her speak for themselves?
