Abstract

In orthopedic surgery, publishing research findings is of utmost importance, regardless of the practitioners’ geographical location or economic status. While the significance of research publication is widely recognized in developed countries, its value for orthopedic surgeons in developing countries is equally vital. Orthopedic journals play a crucial role in the progression of the orthopedic society by providing a platform for disseminating research, sharing clinical experiences, and promoting evidence-based practice. Understanding the value of the platform, Nepal Orthopedic Association established its journal way back in 2010. However, the Nepal Orthopedic Association Journal (NOAJ) could not gather the momentum as it was expected. There were several reasons behind the irregular publication of NOAJ in the past one of them was not enough submissions to the journal. It is not that orthopedic surgeons in Nepal did no research; instead, they chose to submit to other journals. This editorial aims to highlight the critical importance of orthopedic journals and their profound impact on the growth and development of the orthopedic field. Through a comprehensive analysis of relevant literature and research, we underscore the key reasons why orthopedic journals are indispensable for the advancement of the orthopedic society.
