Abstract

In thyperthermia, the temperature of tumor is induced by radio frequency or microwave to raising to 42.5∼43°C for a extended period 20∼60 minute. The temperature controlled lever is critical. The error of temperature measurement must less than 0.5% In this case a serious problem with this heating modality involves the accuracy and controlling the tissue temperature in the presence of strong EM field. Conventional thermal sensors such as thermocouple and thermistor are all based on a metallic active element which can not function in a strong EM field environment. In this paper a project of optical fiber fluorescent thermometer featuring in it's small diameter sensor probe for measuring the temperature of tissue while heating the tumor by electromagnetic field is based on the average and curve fit technique. It significantly promotes the signal to noise ratio for achieving a resolution of 0.2°C in hyperthermia clinical. In this paper, the processing methods will be described in detail.
