Abstract

The specific Si32 activity of air in Denmark showed a seasonal variation by a factor of 5 in 1963. The total Si32 fallout was 5.5·10−5 dpm cm−2 year−1 in the period Sept. 64-Sept. 65. Measurements on accumulated snow and old glacier ice in Norway show Si32 as an usable element for dating of up to 2000–3000 years old ice.
