Abstract

The specific Si32 activity of air in Denmark showed a seasonal variation by a factor of 5 in 1963. The total Si32 fallout was 5.5·10–5 dpm cm–2 year–1 in the period Sept. 64–Sept. 65. Measurements on accumulated snow and old glacier ice in Norway show Si32 as an usable element for dating of up to 2000–3000 years old ice.
