Abstract
Summary:1. A series of 100 patients less than 152 cm. (5 feet) tall was analysed with regard to their pelvic measurements, nationality and performance in labour.2. There was a high incidence of contracted pelvis in this group and the contraction occurred predominantly in patients of South European descent.3. The incidence of Caesarean section in the patients with normal pelvic measurements was twice that of the overall hospital average.4. A high incidence of Caesarean section and mid forceps operation occurred, particularly in the Italian patients.
