Abstract
Experiments are described which show that, within the experimental error, the glide surfaces in uniformly bent zinc single crystals intersect the plane of bending in involutes of circles. The observation that “river-patterns” on the cleavage surfaces of zinc crystals often begin along the line of mosaic boundaries formed during the growth of the crystals is also reported.
