Abstract

SUMMARY: The agar gel diffusion technique was used to investigate the serological relationships between species and strains of Streptomyces. A method is described for the rapid production of antisera which show specific reactions and also a multiplicity of cross-reactions. The technique has been used for the identification and comparison of antibiotic-producing isolates of streptomycetes from soil.
