Abstract

AbstractAn isolate of Hydrangea ringspot virus (HdRSV) was obtained in 2008 from infected Hydrangea spp. in the Czech Republic. The isolate (HydCZ) induced chlorotic to mildly necrotic local lesions or chlorotic systemic symptoms, respectively, in Chenopodium quinoa and Nicotiana benthamiana. The genome of HydCZ (6185 nt) was fully sequenced. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that isolate HydCZ shares high nucleotide sequence identity (96.6%) with an isolate (PD109) from the Netherlands. This is the first report of the sequence of an isolate of HdRSV from the Czech Republic and is the second full genome sequence of the virus.
