Abstract

The separation of Nd(III) via hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM) and mass transfer analysis was studied. At pH of 4.5, 0.5M DNPPA as extractant, 3M H2SO4 as stripping solution, flow rates of feed and stripping solutions of 100mL/min and temperature of feed and stripping solutions of 313K. Optimum extraction and stripping reached 98% and 95%. The mass transfer due to chemical reaction is the mass transfer—controlling step. The experiment data fitted in well with the mass transfer model. The average deviation in the feed side was below 2%.
