Abstract

Application of electrostatic precipitator is the most important basic method relating to the emission control in cement industry as well. The most critical dust concerning the separation by electrostatic precipitator in the cement factory is the hot kiln gas dust. At first, corona method of particle charging is discussed. Among others change of electrical resistivity of dust against temperature and humidity of gas is considered. The electrical conduction mechanisms of dust particles are interpreted by our measuring method in order to characterize conditioning methods for overcoming the high electrical resistivity problems in the case of kiln dust.
