Abstract

Urban freight transport is vital for cities, yet it presents challenges like air quality, noise, safety, and visual impacts. Public and private entities aim to enhance citizen well-being and economic viability, necessitating a sustainable urban freight transport system. This study explores opportunities and barriers to resource sharing in urban freight through an exploratory investigation. The research included a literature review on sustainable shared freight resources. McKinsey reports were also reviewed for a balanced perspective. Furthermore, five semi-structured interviews were conducted to deepen insights. The results highlight seven distinct shared resources, both tangible and intangible.
