Abstract
The previously published five-state close-coupling total cross sections of Moores (1986) are considered with an improved estimate of the contribution from partial cross sections corresponding to large values of the total angular momentum using the unitarised Bethe approximation and Burgess sum rule method (1974) as given by Whelan (1986). Results are presented for transitions between the 3s, 3p and 3d states of a range of energies.
