Abstract
Nuclear phase shifts are calculated for the scattering of two alpha particles, using the method of the resonating group structure, and assuming central Gaussian internucleonic potentials and Gaussian wave functions. It is found that a mixture of two-thirds Serber and one-third MHWB exchange force gives good agreement with the experimentally observed phase shifts.
