Abstract

Angular distributions for the elastic scattering of 29 MeV 3He-particles by C, F, S, and Br have been obtained using a photographic plate method. Absolute differential cross-sections in the centre-of-mass system are given in the angular range of 14° to 80°. The experimental results are analysed in terms of the optical model of the interaction and the best fit parameters of this model are obtained.The results of optica model analyses of 29 MeV 3He elastic scattering data for a number of elements are discussed.Inelastic scattering and (3He, 4He) and (3He, d) reactions are observed for C and some of the experimental angular distributions obtained are compared with the Butler plane wave direct interaction model.
