Abstract

THROUGH an agreement signed in Tokyo on March 23, 1935, the Chinese Eastern Railway was bought by the Manchurian authorities. This agreement was a big victory for the policy of peace pursued by the Soviet Union and for the cause of peace in the Far East. It is therefore worth while recalling the most important stages of the peculiar history of this railway, in whose fate the mighty historical changes of the last few decades have been so fully expressed.
