Abstract

We first show that the s–d quark self energy Σsd is gauge invariant through order (ms–md)/mc. Next we use operator regularization to renormalize Σsd in a left-handed (and not mass-shell) manner. Then we nonperturbatively hadronize Σsd for kaon decays, consistent with chiral symmetry and pion partially conserved axial-current considerations. The agreement with the observed nonleptonic kaon decays is excellent. Finally, we suggest that previous "no-go" theorems do not pertain to Σsd and to our hadron predictions.
