Abstract

The presence of propaganda grew along with social media. This research will explore the propaganda activity between Russia and Ukraine on the r/russia and r/ukraine subreddit within Reddit, a forum-based social media where people from all over the world talk about a specific topic. This research use media tracking to provide primary data, with secondary data also being used to provide relevant definitions to the research. Network propaganda will be utilized as a guidance for some of the aspects of the analysis. The amount of propaganda from both parties regarding the 2022 Russia and Ukraine conflict is quite significant. While the foundation of the research revolves around Russia-Ukraine propaganda, the writer will look deep into what exactly is being propagated by both parties on Reddit and the results on public deliberation as the public’s source of insight. The writer discovered that the effects of the propagated content, is strictly based on the three effects of network propaganda.
