Abstract

The freedom of movement and residence within the European Union and Schengen states is considered by many as the greatest achievement of the UE. However, intra-European migration brings not only benefits but causes many problems and tensions to the extent that it is perceived as one of the main reasons for Brexit. The short analysis of advantages and disadvantages should provoke the long-overdue discussion regarding potential adjustments and regulation of the said freedom.
