Abstract

THE Royal Photographic Society is holding its annual exhibition in the spring instead of the autumn this year, and in the hall of the Prince's Skating Club, Knights-bridge. The exhibition is open now and closes on the last day of this month. Queen Alexandra has graciously contributed sixteen of her own photographs, and surrounding these there is a very large collection of portraits of King Edward VII. As these date from about 1853, they may be studied both as a pictorial history of our late King, and also as representative of the development of photographic portraiture from the early days of the collodion plate. Entomologists and microscopists will be pleased to see a fine portrait of Mr. Fred. Enock, by Furley Louis, in the same gallery.
