Abstract
The author characterizes the contribution of Arkady V. Sokolov into the development of modern library science, bibliography, bibliology, and information science. He focuses on Sokolov’s understanding of the library as the core of library humanism and significance of this social institution within Russian civilization. His professional and friendly communication with colleagues is represented by his publications. A. V. Sokolov’s personality makes science golden legacy.
