Abstract
Microglia participate in neurological homeostasis, as a mediator of neurogenesis and synaptic modulation events, programmed cell death, neuronal stabilization and remodeling. The recent discoveries, have shown that the failure to suppress these events, or the hyperactivation of the microglia population, implies the appearance of a series of pathological injuries to the Central Nervous System.
