Abstract
Before the establishment of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) the management, administration and regulation of companies in Nigeria was under the exclusive regulation of the Companies Registry in the Corporate Affairs Division of the Ministry of Trade. Unfortunately, its Organization and staffing were the joint responsibility of both the ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Justice.
