Abstract

This study belongs to descriptive studies. With the aim of revealing the role of political participation of women members of councils of human rights organizations in the development of the local community. The study relied on the social survey method with two different types, namely: a comprehensive count of women members of the boards of directors of organizations whose size reached (17) singles, and a random sample of beneficiaries of the services of organizations with a size of (215) singles. The study used data collection tools, namely: a questionnaire applied to women members of organizations councils, and an interview guide with the beneficiaries of the organizations services in the local community. The results of the study showed that the most important roles of women's political participation in the development of the local community were to participate in the formulation of policies with the authorities responsible for community development.The results of the study hypotheses also confirmed that there were no significant differences (0.05≥α) in terms of the role of political participation of women in developing the local community from the point of view of community members and women members of boards of organizations according to variable (educational qualification, profession, age).
