Abstract

ABSTRACTThe sterile male technique has developed to the stage where it is being put into practice for insect control. Most of the programs in which the sterile male technique is and will be used are integrated; that is more than one insect suppression technique is used with the objective of effective crop protection with minimum expense, minimum pollution and minimum damage to predators and parasites. The present paper gives some examples of how the sterile male technique is being utilized for integrated control of noxious insects.
