Abstract

Any surgical intervention leads to the development of various morphological, biochemical and functional changes in the patient’s body, the severity of which depends on the patient’s age, the state of the body and the volume of the operation performed. The amount of care in the postoperative period depends on the patient’s condition, his age, the severity of the disease, the type of surgery, the prescribed regimen. Proper patient care plays an important role in the prevention of possible complications and a favorable treatment outcome. Therefore, the role of a nurse in the postoperative period plays a very important role in the patient’s return to normal life and in the restoration of working capacity.
