Abstract

This paper describes an experimental analysis of certain elements of the moral regulation of children's conduct. It is a direct sequel of a previous study [7], and is based on the same theoretical premises, which may be summarized as follows: The core of a child's moral development is his assimilation of a certain kind of conduct regulation, which we, following 0. G. Drobnitskii, shall term normative regulation. This, according to Drobnitskii, is a particular kind of mechanism that, in the absence of other determinants, should urge people toward prosocial conduct in situations in which narrowly personal interests conflict with the interests of the wider social environment [31].
