Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide a clear picture of SMEs in the economies of the Western Balkans, the case of Albania, the new challenges and opportunities they face in each period. Administrative bureaucracies that hinder or delay procedures from the opening and development of SMEs and changes in policy-making to always come to the aid of new entrepreneurs. What has been the progress of the private sector in the region and Albania. The areas in which the latter encounter more problems and what policies should be drawn up to help the superiors.
