Abstract

This paper considers the way in which quality assurance is being used as a tool of consumer protection in the U. K. It examines the way that the legislators and the courts have adopted its principles — whether deliberately or not. Several areas of consumer protection are picked out and the effect of quality assurance principles on them is demonstrated.
