Abstract

Synopsis Cordierite-bearing xenolithic rocks, including quartz-cordierite-norites, which occur in association with basic igneous rocks in many parts of north-east Scotland, represent Dalradian country rocks which have undergone partial melting at the time of intrusion of the basic magma.
