Abstract

Purpose: The development of the musculoskeletal system is a carefully orchestrated process that gives rise to cartilage, bone, tendon, and muscle. Peculiarly, the tendon is a connective tissue that transmits the forces generated by skeletal muscle to bone and allows body motion. The mechanical force contributes to maintaining this important function of the tendon in the healing process of the tendon tear. Key events in the healing and developmental sequence of tendon formation, differentiation, migration, and pattern formation have become clear.
