Abstract
The experts of Medizinischer Dienst der Krankenversicherung (MDK) assess services from different areas of the health care sector, including checks of hospital invoicing. MDK assessors are only employed after being commissioned by astatutory health or nursing insurance. The assessment of intensive medical treatment is made difficult by uncertainties and indistinctness in the regulations, especially the procedure codes for complex intensive care treatment.
