Abstract

Experimental results are presented for the growth of the hardness that is attributed to the presence of iodide, produced during the strain-ageing of silver iodobromide (0.35 mol% AgI) at room temperature. It is proposed that the atmospheres around the slip dislocations are formed by the Cottrell-Bilby interaction rather than the Snoek effect.
