Abstract

IL-33, a new member of the IL-1 cytokine family, may be atheroprotective via induction of a Th1-to-Th2 immunologic switch. However, to date, the role of IL-33 in cardiovascular disease remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to assess the level of IL-33 in atopic patients and its effect on the expression of proteins involved in cholesterol transport.
