Abstract
The profile of Hβ emitted by a low pressure afterglow discharge (p0 = 500 Pa, ne = 1· 1015 cm-3) is measured with 1/μs temporal resolution on a 500-channel optical multichannel analyzer (1 channel = 0.09 Å). Several structures appearing superimposed on thermal line profile can be identified as hydrogen molecular lines. These results affect earlier observations under very similar conditions which have been interpreted in terms of plasma satellites
