Hydrogen has emerged as a promising sustainable energy carrier with the potential to address key challenges in the transition towards a low-carbon energy system. This paper explores the role of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source and its integration with the grid to support the decarbonization of various sectors. We begin by examining the production pathways of hydrogen, including electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources and thermochemical water splitting.
