Abstract

Background: Two of the most important sugical complications after liver resection are the development of biloma, an encapsulated collection of bile outside the biliary tree supported by a predominantly iatrogenic biliary fistula, and bile likeage. The development of biliary complications increases postoperative mortality, so the use of topical hemostatic agents have been recommended. Nonetheless, in Literature, only few study focused attention on the use of these agents to prevent complication related to liver resection
