Abstract

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) raises pregnancy complications, which are felt to be related to the intrinsic insulin resistance of the syndrome. Different ethnicities demonstrate the increase in insulin resistance at different body mass indexes (BMI). This variation in magnitude of insulin resistance based on ethnicity may alter risks of pregnancy complications in women with PCOS. Therefore, we studied the risk of pregnancy complication in women with PCOS as a function of ethnicity.
